Tom... love your Mini color... Signal Green FTW! hehe...

I'd been using Bridgestone Potenza RE001 & now RE002... performance quite nice... how does it compare to Goodyear F1 D5? do they have 205/40/17? how much per piece?

GY F1 D5 tread very stylo ~!

after RE002... I may wanna try other brand...

Re: Review: Goodyear Eagle F1 Directional 5 - The Ultra High Performance tyre, Almost

thanks hazard, is that the same colour as your signature?

they don't make Directional 5s in 205/40 which was my intended size, but 205/45 was the next best choice.

here are the sizes for Eagle F1 Directional 5:

SERIES SIZE SPEED INDEX
40 215/40R17 W
45 205/45R16 W
45 205/45R17 W
45 215/45R17 W
45 215/45R18 W
45 225/45R17 W
45 245/45R17 Y
45 245/45R18 W
50 195/50R15 W
50 205/50R16 W
50 215/50R17 W
50 225/50R17 W
55 195/55R15 W
55 205/55R16 W
55 225/55R16 W
55 225/55R17 W

as for a comparison between the RE001 / 2 I can't say for sure since it was only a brief moment with the RE001 then, but i'd say in terms of all-out dry grip and constant enthusiastic driving, it's the bridgestones. Then again they would most probably not last half as long as the Goodyears, as well as being a great all rounder like the D5. It really depends on what your purpose is really.

More Daily + Some Action = Directional 5
More Action + Some Daily = RE00X

I'm currently using this tire for my Mark X for a few months now and my experience is more or less similar. Overall a good tire except a bit noisy.

Hi Tom,
To my understanding, these GY F1 D5 is to replace their aging GY GS-D3. The F1 Asy 2 is to replace their F1 Asy.....

The F1 D5 and F1 Asy 2 were launched together......

Being directional, if the wear becomes uneven the noise will become louder...

Yeah, I would've bought the Asy if it's available in the sizes I was looking for. The D5 is the next best from GY. Just a little bit noisy but still acceptable IMHO.
