The Morgan Motor Company has been steadily producing cars that are wonderful throwbacks to yesteryear with their classic lines that reminisce the beauty of autos from those times.
The fly in the ointment though was that the shape of their cars didn’t change much over the course of time. Now you might argue that that would be paradoxical because the lines were supposed to reflect on designs of the past but some modern touches wouldn’t have killed the nostalgia.

All that’s about to change though as Morgan unveiled their latest machine, the beautiful Eva GT. The car would be a two-plus-two luxury grand tourer that will hit the roads in 2012 and be powered by a BMW lump.
The firm’s unique aluminium body and chassis tech has been applied to the Eva GT, helping to weigh the car in at a remarkable 1,250kg. Underneath, the underpinnings are similar to those on the company’s Aeromax Supersports car, a lightweight-bonded aluminium chassis with the body panels made from the same material as well and formed with tech not-out-of-place in the aircraft industry.

“It’s intended to be capable as serving as everyday family transport as well as a luxury GT. The rear seats will be comfortable for children and small adults, and should serve for occasional use for taller occupants,” said Charles Morgan.
The longer length of the Eva GT is its key to the interior space, measuring half a meter longer over the .2-meter long Aeromax it’s based on.
Propulsion will come from Munich, with BMW’s 3-liter twin-turboed straight-six pushing 306hp and 400Nm of torque to the rear wheels. Being a direct-injection engine, Euro 6 emissions regulations will not be a worry.

Transferring power to the driven wheels will be either a six-speed ZF slushbox or a proper six-speed manual. With its feather-light weight and just over 300 ponies, the Eva GT should dispatch the century mark in approximately 4.5-seconds onto a top speed of 273km/h.
Filling out the spec sheet are the usual bits you would expect from a luxury grand tourer such as ABS, satellite navigation and ‘smart’ multi-stage airbags.
The final price has yet to be determined but downpayments are already being taken in lieu of a 2012 delivery date.
