Hi guys wat do you all think. Got one company claim can reconfig ECU for RM999 and gain 10% increase in HP...so do you guys think it is worth it..?

if your stock hp is 280, 10% = 28hp and thats not bad at all. but if your car stock hp is 50, then 10% is just 5 hp. i suppose its only worth it if your car has a lot of hp to begin wit just to make the 10% increase seem more noticeable.

btw. will they dyno the car to prove the increase as part of the paskage?

i also agree with xerofighter..was thinking of the same thing also

rm999 for 10 hp?..not worth lo

for what kinda engine bro? stock? moded? how much hp upgrade r we talking here?

mine is Chevrolet Optra 1.6..stock is 109HP

10% increase will be like 119HP

They promise to show a dyno chart on this to prove woh...

anyway they mention they can mod the existing ECU without using piggyback ECU.

better get mechanical mods like air filter and exhaust

because its just a 10% increment...means about 10HP increment but to spend Rm999..as sta mentioned..air filter and exhaust might giv same or more increment..depends..good luck!

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...... for 50hp u'll only need RM2999.00

through nitrous

well i think u can get a K&N filter and maybe get around 5 to 10 Hp ..can try using thier high performance air intake systems..
http://www.knfilters.com/kits.htm
not sure if they are all available here...i have seen airfilters from K&N

i think that the 999 10%hp mod is the kind of mod that people would do if they are trying to squeeze every bit of hp out their car..

since ur car is stock, why not start with the basic modifcations like ur air filter, exhaust system etc.

oh and regarding your bHp figures, if your car is an automatic, remember to -15% or so from the figures because some power is lost to the transmission fluid (i think)

to consider the car has 109bhp, an extra 11bhp wont get you anywhere fast enuff.

for 5 thou, get and old school 120Y or KE70 corolla. swapped standard engines (1.2 for 120Y, 1.3 for corolla) to bigger displacement 1.5 engines from C22 vanette or liteace and voila!

you get an FR that's real fun to drive and most probably accelerate faster too. of coz, you will lose at the top end.

not for you to consider this seriuosly though.

anyway, if RM999 is not that much money to you, go for it. its best if they can demo to you 1st before buying, maybe a test drive after plugged in new ECU...good luck!!

Get the basics done first lar. A proper induction kit and free flow extractor would probably liberate around 10hp for half the price.

if mod exhaust n open pod can only get 10% HP i will rather go stright to ECU...cause mod exhaust will becom every noisy one...
