My mechanic said to change the engine will cost RM3k plus. Better solution than to repair the cylinder head.
My regular mechanic had been changing engines for Toyotas and also Hondas. He had been handling my Coupe and another dark blue Coupe problems all this while.
You can contact him at 019-3171370 (Ah Soon).
Location : sri gombak.

Daniel,
just curious. How much does your mechanic charge to one is to swap in a 4G93T into a coupe?

Ace, I've enquire from my mechanic about transplaning the 4G93T engine to Coupe. He advice us not to do so because it will cause lots of problem and we must also deal with JPJ officers not knowing whether can pass or not. The engine itself will also give more problems compare to our beta engine. There are lots of 4G93T in the market now. It comes with single cam and also twin cams. Mainly for Wiras but not suitable for Coupes.

As additional, I enquire from my mechanic about transplaning a 4G63T engine into Coupe's bay. He said that the transplant will cost about RM6-7k. This engine availabity in the market is poor compare to 4G93T.

As a mechanic's point of view, he advised that Coupes stick to their original Beta engine is the best.

~Hope I answer your question~

May I know what are the symptoms that shows a requirement for cylinder head replacement and how to protect and avoid such problems?
Also would like to know the interval for changing the timing belt for coupe RD2? I normally send my coupe to authorized Hyundai Repair Center. I hope they will do a routine check.

Thanks.

even if you didn't hit 70K. you should visually inspect the belt for any crack or torn side. Mine did and I change it immediately.

Hi All,

Currently using Stock Wira 1.3 Disc, desperately to upgrade the braking system

as now using rojak 4g91.

Can i just install 1.6/1.8 Disc and caliper without changing the brake pump?

Thanks in advance
