I went to the Proton website and it claims that GTi fuel consumption is 6.6liter/100km. If my calculations are correct, that translates to a staggering 757 km for full tank(50liters)!!!

Is it correct?

If not what is the normal consumption for city driving?

I also heard that consumption can be lowered by modifying your car. Is this true?

i don't think that figure is correct.even iswara std also difficult to get $0.10 per km what somemore a GTi.

fyi,
my putra doin 8.2 liters /100km @ $0.125 per km.
very conservative driving mind u.no sudden acceleration.minimal start-stop driving.average speed 90km/h.max speed 110km/h.

These are based on assumptions that you only drive at 90km/h. no start stop traffic, no uphill/downhill, no overtaking, no nothing in your way with pleasant weather conditions and on an even road, with high tyre inflation rate, minimum tire wear, engine in excellent condition, very likely with aircond off. :)

Which is basically impossible for any petrol car at 1.8l.

Its just a rough figure for long distance driving and is some kind of requirement in most countries that you put your fuel consumption averages there.

my gti gips me 10km/l on average, mix driving.. stock, only decat and ejoz mod

i believe most 4G93 users are getting the same FC

they usually will state (i know they did for gen2) at what speed to achieve this.

usually at a constant speed of 90kph. if drove on highway only, at this speed then its a possibility.

Anyway all this claims by any manufacturers will be over-optimistic.

nope.. a gti cant reach that consumption even in stock.. the max it can go is bout 500++km... on highways off course..

In urban n traffic area.. it tends to conssume more..

thanks...

Thanks for your feedbacks, sifu's......the owner of the GTi i wanna buy said his fc is about 450-500km city driving. Oh ya, he got turbo as well....
