There’s always going to be improvements to everything, take the process of evolution for example and as we progress through life, we’re always going to find new ways to make things better, not necessarily less complicated, but we’re not here’s to unravel life’s mysteries –just the mystery of how Ferrari’s F12 Berlinetta compares to the 599 GTO it replaces.

<!--more-->Rather than putting the 599 GTB with 612bhp up against the F12’s 730bhp, instead EVO decided to pit it against the range topping 599 GTO with 661bhp. Frankly it simply wouldn’t have been fair to do it with the GTB – just to make a comparison between of two insanely fast front-mounted V12s.

The F12 seems to undermine the GTO markedly in terms of tail-happy action with its quick steering rack and the non-exhaustive supply of horses unleashed from under its hood, but overall, the F12 seems to demonstrate almost no likeness to its predecessor.

Displacement: 5,999cc
Maximum power: 661bhp at 8,250rpm
Maximum torque: 620Nm at 6500 rpm

Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Spec:
ENGINE Type: V12 – 65°
Location: Front, longitudinally mounted
Displacement: 6,262cc
Maximum power: 730bhp @ 8,250 rpm
Maximum torque: 690Nm @ 6,000rpm
