im a newbie so i want to know more about it....thanks

Bro,
What engine you are using ?

First of all, check the engine diag. code

bro,
mine 1.8gsr mitsubishi.wat engine diag. code??me noob la pls enlighten.thanks

Actually... check your airflow sensor. Mine used to get CEL every now and then until I clean it up. Also, if u expose the airflow sensor to heat (open port), CEL will come up when engine bay is hot.

What I did is very simple. I diverted some cold air into the stock airflow box. No more CEL.

bro how u divert the cool air?u mean the airflow sensor dirt causing the CEL??mine is after installed the emanage then CEL on,and my mech claimed that it is normal

e-Manage uses the airflow sensor a lot... more than SAFC. So, if the airflow is faulty or simply too hot, CEL comes on.

How to divert cold air? Well... put back the stock aircan and see if CEL comes on or not.

Please ref the thread, "Evo3(CE9A) Self Diagnostic Code"

Good Luck.

hi guys, so will CEL on off affect the engine performance??
That mean my mech gave me wrong info??

CEL means there is something wrong with one or more of the vehicle's onboard sensors.

Hell, if speed sensor kaput, CEL also comes on.

On my car, I've the following DTCs.

1. Injectors
2. Speed Sensor
3. Airflow Sensor

I've fixed problem 2 and 3. Now, sorting out problem 1.

Bah... headache! Better drive a carbie car... less headache!

same problem here man! "1. Injectors"

Ahhhhhh.......... Check light on and off on and off.......haha
But so far doesn't effect the steady state of running........

guys,
so if sensors,injectors....or other things is ok and normal then the CEL will not on off right?

Yup. U really need the DTC reader to read the values from the ECU.

hm... same problem happen to my fren car. he is a civic with B20B. he installed emanage in last 2 days. got this problem. till now still canot get it solve. yes, its on off thing.

since its mentioned 3 items above need to be check, how do we check on the injector side?

Get a multimeter and test the ohm values on the injectors. Make all 4 injectors return the same result.

Getting a DTC for Injector means the ECU unable to supply a constant 12V to the injectors. Either injector is faulty or some wiring between ECU and injector has bad contacts.
