just to know about O2 sensor...izit really important? because since mine is faulty i just ignore that sensor and now i driving with faulty sensor, should i replace the sensor and how much does it cost.i was told the sensor is hard to get but so far i never trying to find that at any chop or sparepart shop. my car's, engine is 4G93T. anyone can help me, really need ur help guys or we can share exprience if u have facing the same problem.

its very expensive to get an original o2 sensor.

you can drive without it, but you will have poor fuel consumption and erratic idling.

thanks for ur info but i dont know whether my car has bad fuel consumption or not becoz never compare to other cars but through my roughly calculation, my fuel consumption is:

i fill up fuel RM60/1.62=37 litre and i got 350km with average speed 120kmj on highway,so for 1 litre i can go about 9.5 km(350km/37litre).its bad or not i really don't know.my engine is stock gsr no major mods.

my bone stock standard 4g93t could get 11-12km/litre

o2 sensor is used for closed loop operation during idling and cruising mainly, helps keep the afr pegged at 14.7.

You might wanna try and source a 2nd hand working one, and see if it improves your fc. If it does then it might be a good idea to splash on a brand new one (take good care of it! dont use leaded/race gas, no touching water, basically dont touch the tip hehe). Over time it'll pay itself off.

All,
a little out of topic here......how do we know that the o2 sensor is faulty?? if the o2 voltage doens't cycle during idling izzit consider faulty???

to check o2 simply get multimeter and read voltage. idle should give you 14.7 thereabouts. Also contrary to popular believe the o2 is only applicable during cruising not under load.

speedspirit...but ur car power gile man..without o2 summore...with o2 means habisler...

14.7? I think that's the ideal air-fuel ratio, not the voltage output of an 02 sensor.
Just a thought.

yes.. 14.7:1 is the optimum AFR.. the o2 signal is diff..
btw my o2 sensor also kong edi.. still can drive.. haha..

of course still can drive, you just wont be running closed loop during cruising/idling, and u'd probably get better fc once u fix it.
