Proton Gen 2 - INFORMATIVE Proton Gen-2 http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/3363/gen2ft2.jpg Proton GEN-2 is a car made by Proton launched in the third quarter of 2004. It is based on the same platform as the Proton Waja. Codenamed WRM (WRM stands for Wira Replacement Model). It is the first Proton model to use the very first Malaysian-own developed engine, invented by Proton and Lotus engineering team: The CamPro Engine, 1.6 litre. Lotus Cars which is owned by Proton was instrumental in the development of the car which is evident in the car's ride and handling capability. In Malaysia, the car is rivalled by Hyundai Accent (Verna) and Kia Rio (Pride). The limited edition track day special was developed with much of the same principles and ideologies as the highly acclaimed Satria R3 but is designed to cater to a totally different market segment.
