hey...wat i know is that BO sounds are made when the accelerator pedal is let go rite?not when u the gear is changed rite?
and wat is a boost leak?
and wat is a boost leak?
Eh? How will the absence of a BOV cause detonation? Care to explain a bit? I've only heard of reverse pressurised airflow causing compressor surge and in extreme cases causing compressor wheel damage and turbo failure.Originally posted by cyclonite@Oct 29 2004, 01:09
YEs of coz. the purpose of your blow off is to release the turbo pressure from your turbo manifold when your throttle butterfly closes. Otherwise the air pressure will be too high for the given fuel mixture and cause detonations.
boost leak is a leak in your turbo manifold therefore you're not getting the full pressure of your turbo. could be leak in your blow off too.
thats compresser surge my friend :)Originally posted by L2TurboFool@Nov 6 2004, 08:42
detonation-coz the air pressure is forced back in to the turbine.which will eventually spoil it..that's wat the BOV is for..release the pressure..! :P
