Along with the D20 hatchback, BAIC also pulled the veil off the EV200, an electric vehicle (EV) version of the combustion engine D20. Unlike the D20, this EV200 comes in sedan form and its electric motor gives the car a driving range of up to 200km.

Similar to its D20 sibling, the EV200 is to be locally-assembled (CKD) either in Gurun or Pekan, and is the first right-hand drive unit for the Chinese brand.

The ternary lithium-ion cell gives the EV up to 200km driving range following NEDC (New European Driving Cycle), and with constant speed driving, the car is claimed to reach 240km before the power runs out.

Showy Version and Enjoyable Version are further equipped with UV-resistant glass, electric-folding and heated side mirrors. 3 variants will be offered into Malaysian market: Relaxing Version, Showy Version and the range-topping Enjoyable Version.

As for the colours, the EV200 comes in 6 shades – Madrid Red, Alpine White, Milan Silver, Hamburg Grey, Deep Blue and Champs Elysees Gold.

All variants also receive infotainment bits consisting of double-DIN infotainment unit, 8-inch centre control panel, mobile phone wireless charging and 4 to 6 speakers (depending on variants).

Safety wise, the EV comes standard with 3-point front and rear seatbelts with reminder, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX and child lock.
