Well over a year ago, one of our customers purchased an R35 GT-R, had it painted by one of the local body shops that we worked with and then had us install our AMS Alpha 9 GT-R package along with a built 3.8L and Alpha trans upgrade. This was the highest hp Alpha 9 we had built to date and we dubbed it the Agent Orange GT-R. He had since sold the car in immaculate condition, in which case a local resident to the Chicagoland area decided to take it off his hands.

The new owner continued work on the GT-R, changing the upholstery and other aesthetics, installing a JL Audio system and interior lighting before bringing it back to AMS for another drastic change. He wanted additional power from the GT-R...more than the 790awhp that it was already making on race gas and he wanted it all done on 93 octane pump gas.

A solution that we agreed upon was to convert this Alpha 9 to an Alpha 10 setup which ended up turning it into the highest hp pump gas GT-R. I'll be sure to explain the differences between the Alpha 9 & 10 in the images that follow.

The Agent Orange GT-R made its way back into the shop with a few changes that surprised us.

Its seats were reupholstered with orange suede along with orange accent panels and foot well lighting to complement the exterior of the car.

A JL Audio sound system with custom sub enclosure was also installed.

Conversion to the Alpha 10 from an Alpha 9 would not require too many changes outside the turbo kit and fuel system. The GT-R already had our 3.8 liter race engine (with upgraded internals) and most of the exhaust (minus downpipe swap).

As this engine sits in this picture, it has the Alpha 9 setup with our upgraded billet wheel turbos and AMS catless downpipes which will be replaced with our larger Alpha 10 turbos and stainless steel race downpipes.

Here is an image of some of the components to be installed. On this cart are AMS cast equal length manifolds, AMS race downpipes, TiAL MV-S 38mm wastegates, Alpha 10 spec turbos, and a new set of K&N filters. On the level below are AMS intake & intercooler piping and heat shields

A heavy duty polished stainless steel heat shield provides protection against heat and fire within the cramped confines of the GT-R's engine bay.

Black powder coated intake and intercooler piping can be seen here. In addition, AMS MAF and MAP sensors added to ensure smoother drivability on such a high horsepower GT-R.

843awhp on 93 octane (AKI), should be on RON 98. 'Regular' fuel in the US should be AKI 87 (RON 91-92)?

This is just.. ungodly and sinfully awesome! :top:

Correct. To add, both the Alpha 9 and 10 come complete with a pump gas and race gas tune. We have tuned our shop Alpha 9 GT-R on 91oct (RON 95) for California standards.

This GT-R will soon receive an MS109E tune but the 93oct tune was something we felt would be particularly special to the GT-R community. Although we do not have a number yet for this one, a typical number for the Alpha 10 on MS109E is around 980awhp on our Mustang dyno which reads about 8% less than the Dynojet we used for this vehicle. With a drivetrain loss of 15%, this should make it around 1200bhp GT-R when everything is complete.

Kacing $$$$$$.... Whats the bill...?

The paint, interior and audio is not something we billed, but our Alpha 10 package for this one was around $85,000 installed (RM 259,608). Keep in mind, most everything from the filter to the exhaust tip has been replaced or upgraded.

This link above shows much of what is included. It doesn't show the entire valvetrain (Ferrea springs & Kelford cams), TiAL MV-S wastegates, CNC ported cylinder head, details of our http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/ams-nissan-r35-gt-r-vr38-alpha-3.8-race-engine-upgrade.html, MAP sensors as well as the HKS Legamax which we are now using. I am updating this page.

Brian, very good and detail explanation there... bravo... and good GTR produced and the preice is still reasonable... cheersss bro....:itsme:

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

RM260K... holy sh|t..i hate my job..AGAIN.

If it's any consolation, most of what we build here is well beyond me .

What kind of turbo using?

They are Precision Turbos the size of their standard 30R. Unique features we incorporated are the compressor cover design and the billet compressor wheel for quicker spool-up.

bro...face it..even if the engine DIDN'T have the potential we would damn sure as hell MAKE IT have potential with all those Wiseco, Duratech, ARP, balancing, tuning and what have you...lol
