Ken Block defends Goodwood honing title in epic style w/video

What better way to kick off a Friday than with some mindless tyre shredding, countless donuts, plumes of smoke, a couple of Ford Fiestas and just general hoonage at its best. Yes folks, we’re talking about none other than the Gymkhana maestro himself and the person responsible for making ‘hooning’ a household word, Ken Block.

Every chance he gets, Block will attempt to destroy as many tyres as he could while simultaneously contributing to air pollution. Last year, he made his British introduction in style by winning the honing award at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

This year, he was back to obliterate the driveway of a certain Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox, better known as the Earl of March who plays host to Goodwood.

The Gymkhana-prepped Fiesta and WRC Fiesta were both on hand for Block to defend his title this year. He might not be doing that well in the WRC but he sure knows how to put on a show and entertain a crowd.

So without much surprise, Block was awarded the honing title for a second year running by the Earl of March. It would probably take slightly longer for the grass to grow back than it would for the smoke to clear but all in all, the crowd went home a happy lot with tyre smoke lining their trachea and the image of Block’s Fiesta melting its tyres embedded in their heads.

ya ya ya, block talks a good game. he should maybe try compete in something that is other than his own creation :P at least put some credibility to his ability to drive. real kampung hero this one :D
he is the "chopper" of the motoring world, all show no go :P
