It has been the tradition that every year, Tune It! Safe! – an organization promoting awareness on genuine tuning components and practices – teams up with known aftermarket specialist with the aim of creating, modify and transform a sporty car into a police racer.
Receiving sponsorships from the German Federal Ministry of Transport and the Association of Automobile Tuners, they recently revealed something that you would not want to see on your rear view mirror; a Chevrolet Corvette C7 police car.
For this year, Corvette specialist Tikt Performance was given the responsibility to create this menacingly-looking Corvette Stingray to be unveiled at the Essen Motor Show. This C7 features a carbon fiber body kit that includes a front lip spoiler, extended fender flares, and side skirts.
But the most eye catching feature of the car has got to be the blue and silver police livery with the words ‘POLIZEI’ present on various parts of the car. It is also fitted with a Hella police lighting package, and a carbon fiber rear spoiler. The car rolls on 19 and 20 inch RR-1 forged alloy wheels and wrapped in Hankook Ventus S1 evo tires.
Powering the C7 is a 6.2-liter V8 engine pushing out 459bhp and 464 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a seven-speed manual transmission, zerotohundred takes 4.2 seconds before hitting a top speed of 290km/h.
