Subaru’s New WRX STI ts TYPE RA is Exclusively for Japan Market Only!

While Subaru does come out with interesting cars from their factories, they must have named their new model by bashing up the keyboard or let a cat walk across it. Nevertheless, the new Subaru WRX STI tS TYPE RA must be an impressive machine to behold as it is a special edition version of the high-performance Impreza sedan made exclusively for the Japanese market.

Available only in Japan, this new WRX model will be limited to only 300 units where they will open the order books for four months from August 23 all the way until December 23 2013. So what exactly makes this new tS TYPE RA special than the usual WRX STI?

For starters, the tS TYPE RA is given a special selection of colors which includes Pearl White, Tangerine Orange and of course, Subaru’s iconic metallic blue. Other than some performance and styling extras, this new car also gets a new suspension system from STI which also includes different struts and coil springs, Brembo’s gold-colored calipers (6-piston for the front, 2-piston in the back), 18-inch black alloy wheels, a sharper steering system, a front lip spoiler, bucket seats and sill plates.

But Subaru did not stop there as they went forward with an optional package, transforming the already long name to the Subaru WRX STI tS TYPE RA NBR CHALLENGE PACKAGE. This NBR or Nurburgring CHALLENGE PACKAGE adds a dry carbon spoiler, a nicer set of 18-inch BBS wheels, special decals and RECARO’s front bucket seats.

And the price tag for this mouthful Subaru? In Japan the price starts from RM 140,000 and could reach all the way to RM 162,300 with all the optional boxes ticked.
