Mercedes set to Wow Frankfurt with the CLA 45 AMG Racing Series Concept!

Since the Frankfurt Motor Show is just around the corner, a lot of manufacturers are coming out with concept cars to reflect what they might have in store in the near future. Indeed there are a lot of them, but we are pretty much interested in the ones that are fast and furious, like this Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG Racing Series Concept.

Set to make its world premiere at Frankfurt next week, it does what Mercedes describes as “provides a preview of a further customer sports racing car from Mercedes-AMG”. And from the looks of it, we really love it!

Going with the formula of stripping the unnecessary parts and throwing a lot of carbon fiber goodies inside, the racing concept is powered by a tinkered version of the stock CLA 45 AMG 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine linked to a dual-clutch seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT7 semi-automatic transmission.

“The CLA 45 AMG Racing Series is destined for the crowd-pulling race series featuring 2.0-liter turbocharged cars and may be deployed internationally if demand is high enough. The technical specifications will vary according to the race rules and race series. The engine output and power transmission are variable, with permanent all-wheel drive or purely front-wheel drive possible as in the standard version”, said Mercedes in a statement.
