Scion FR-S With Targa Top Unveiled at SEMA!

The name Scion may not ring a bell locally, but it is actually Toyota’s sub brand in the USA for the younger generation. Toyota does not sell the 86 as it is in the States, but instead Scion rebadges the 86 as the Scion FR-S for the US market. On the outside, the Scion FR-S looks much more like the Toyota 86, with the same bumper, albeit with different badges.

Called the Scion FR-S T1, this chopped coupe was built by Jeremy Lookofsky of Cartel Customs. Unlike the regular FR-S however, the T1 is turbocharged. But the true head-turner of the Azzuro California Blue T1 has to be the targa top. Cartel Customs has chopped the roof of the FR-S giving the car a nice targa top. If that’s not enough, they guys also added a louvered rear window for that old school cool.

The Scion FR-S T1 rides on a set of custom forged 19-inch wheels which looks really cool. Other cool add ons include a repositioned rear exhaust (which now sits in the center of the rear bumper). The turbo kit is courtesy of GReddy, while the T1 gets lowered thanks to a set of KW coil-over suspension kit. If that wasn’t enough, the FR-S T1 has a set of custom nickel plated big brake kit from Wilwood Racing. Even the interior has been enhanced with a set of OEM Audio+ System 400 paired with a Pioneer AVIC-8000NEX head unit.
