The Malaysian market welcomes a new addition into the Lotus line up as the new Exige S Roadster was launched at the Lotus Flagship Showroom and Centre in Penchala, Kuala Lumpur. This new roadster was unveiled by Proton Advisor YABhg Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, and sits alongside the track-focused Exige’s range like the Exige S, Exige Cup, and Exige Cup R.
The car is powered by the same 3.5-liter V6 engine as the coupe variants and it weighs 10kg less than the Exige S at 1,166kg. With 345-horsepower at 7,000rpm and 295 lb-ft of torque, zerotohundred is achieved in just 3.9 seconds. The Roadster’s mechanical performance matches its coupe counterpart, although it had to sacrifice the rear wing and front splitter to maximize airflow.
During the ceremony, Tun Dr. Mahathir had also presented a mock key to the first Exige S Roadster customer in Malaysia, Mr Simon Flint. Far from being a stranger to Lotus, the Chief Executive Officer of Fitness First Asia was delighted with his new ride.
