Aston Martin Celebrating the Past through its Futuristic CC100 Speedster Concept

Aston Martin might have recently released their new V12 Vantage S which is set to be the ultimate production Aston to date. But at their recent Centenary celebration, a new kind of Aston surfaced and like the nature of all concepts, this one really turns the head of everyone in the vicinity.

Called the CC100 Speedster Concept, this new Aston Martin was unveiled at the recent 2013 Nurburgring 24-Hour race. And unlike any other concepts that serve as a static monument, this one actually went down the Nordschleife with the Aston’s CEO Dr Ulrich Bez himself behind the wheels alongside with the race-winning 1959 DBR1 piloted by British racing legend Sir Stirling Moss.

This alluring concept houses a 6.0-liter V12 engine under the hood mated to a sequential gearbox. With the bodywork being made out of carbon fibre, 0-100 takes only four seconds and will keep on climbing until it reaches its top speed of 290km/h.

“CC100 is the epitome of everything that is great about Aston Martin. It represents our fantastic sporting heritage, our exceptional design capability, our superb engineering know-how and, above all, our adventurous spirit!,” said Bez.

We totally agree on what Bez had said, and this CC100 is simply one-of-a-kind that reflects what Aston could accomplish by playing around with the design while still maintaining the distinctive look of the British marquee. Not a surprise since the Chief Exterior Designer Miles Nurnberger was tasked to “create something that reflects the 100 years of Aston Martin heritage and signals the future of the brand”.
