The thing about tuning is you almost always delete the factory feel of the car and that could and does result in the character of the car being totally different than what it was designed to be like. That can be fun but it can be disastrous as well if not done right. Actually they have been working on this Audi R8 Twin-Turbo project for a while now and we have posted news about the project before but this is the completed work. The video snippet above shows the Heffner-treated Audi R8 going from second to fourth but as is typical with all video footage, that car’s true power potential cannot be appreciated but with 536 rear wheel horsepower, the pull of the car should be quite intoxicating.
At the moment the car is said to be boosting at 6PSI and runs on a 11.8 to 1 air/fuel ratio. As mentioned, this results in 536 horses at the rear wheel but according to our source, the R8 is capable of attaining about 600whp if coupled to 100 octane fuel. Heffner reckons the mods will give the car a quarter mile time in the high 10-seconds range.
