The BRZ / 86 is in a little bit of a limbo these days. A brilliant coupe on one hand and a asthmatic child on the other. Although Toyobaru coupes are never known to be powerful nor fast within the sports car vocabulary, they make up for purity, soul and driveability. It defines the true meaning of a driver's car. That's why driving legends like Tengku Djan has an 86 as his daily car. It's a like toy made for true drivers.

They just updated it.

Subaru America has announced the limited edition of the recently-facelifted BRZ, the 2017 Subaru BRZ Series.Yellow. This facelifted BRZ comes with optional Performance Package for those who need that extra becauseracerar factor.

What's the deal?

So, what makes the Series.Yellow special? First, there will only be 500 unit made and manual is the sole transmission offered.

Exterior

The sport coupe's headlights are upgraded to "kono-ji" style LED with Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and with the turn signals integrated into the new headlight for a clean design that completes the refined front fascia.

Then the obvious - the colour. The car comes in an ultra bright yellow paint job matched with black details including black 17-inch alloy wheels, black side mirrors, and black Subaru and BRZ emblems as icing on the cake.

Interior

The cabin upholstery is presented in black-yellow trim and stitching. Included as standard in the special edition is a 4.2-in LCD multifunction display positioned to the right of the prominent tachometer.

This driver information readout provides access to vehicle performance including lateral Gs, accelerator pedal position, braking force, steering angle, oil and water temperature, and battery voltage as well as an integrated stop watch for recording lap times.

Performance

The Performance Package is equipped as standard on the Series.Yellow, which means 205hp from the 2.0-litre D-4S naturally-aspirated flat-four engine, 5hp more than the base car. Also receiving updates are the intake manifold and exhaust manifold.

Stopping power is provided by a pair of Brembo four-piston calipers in the front and factory dual-piston unit at the rear. To further improve the already-agile BRZ, the Series.Yellow version employ SACHS Performance coilovers that are specced on all all four corners. A necessity when exploring the next level in damping and grip.

Also, standard in the Series.Yellow is a lower final drive ratio from 4.1 to 4.3:1 and is paired with the standard Torsen limited-slip differential, as a whole improves acceleration.

Makes one wonder, how will this car stack up against the upgraded Mazda MX-5 RS?

A lot of us car enthusiasts love our cars more than our wife (some says so)

Most of us did spend lots of money on purchasing expensive imported rims. Even if is not
very expensive, many would also feel the pain if our beautiful rims are scratched. Be it
Taiwan Rims, Japan Rims and etcs.

So, other than repairing the rims or respray our rims. Is there any other way to protect it?

Good news, not sure how many of you know about this. But came across this website
talking...
