Get the upgraded Volkswagen Golf with added features – priced from RM 149,888!

The Golf is recognized worldwide with numerous awards around its belt like the World Car of the Year in 2009 and 2013 as well as the European Car of the Year in 1992 and 2013 as it has a distinctive appeal to the masses.

With this in mind, Volkswagen Malaysia is more than glad to announce the upgraded Golf which comes with new and added features at a lower price. They will be offering two variants – the Golf Highline which comes with a price tag of RM 159,888, and the cheaper Golf Comfortline at RM 149,888.

“The Golf has always been one of Volkswagen’s iconic models since its debut in 1974. Seven generations later, the Golf has undergone impressive advancement in system technology featuring the best of German engineering. It is also a car that Malaysians have come to love,” said Mr. Armin Keller, Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Malaysia.

“With the upgraded Golf, we believe that drivers will find these added features useful and will complement their driving. Now at a lower price and packed with added features, Volkswagen Malaysia is staying true to our commitment of making our cars accessible to Malaysians,” he added.

The upgraded Golf features an array of added features, one of which is the Keyless Entry & Push Start (KESSY) engine start-up technology. This allows the driver to start a car by a push of a button without inserting a key into the ignition. Other features include Park Assist which allows the car to park itself, leaving the pedal works to the driver, and the Rest Assist that senses fading concentration levels by measuring pedal and steering wheel use.

The upgraded Golf gets a set of 17-inch Madrid wheels and LED taillights for better visibility on the roads. The interior also gets a touch of new looks from the new sport seats with “Mel Stripe” fabric, offering better grip and hold.

Power wise, the upgraded Golf gets the 1.4-liter turbocharged direct petrol injection four-cylinder engine with an increased output of 150PS, 10PS higher than the outgoing model, and a maximum torque of 250Nm. Mated to a seven-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG), zerotohundred takes 8.2 seconds and a top speed of 216 km/h.
