We have seen how the naturally aspirated cars handled the 5.543km Sepang International Circuit, and now it is the time for us to turn our attention to the turbocharged machines of the 2015 TIMETOATTACK Round 1. Can this finally settle the debate on which is faster; NA or turbocharged? We will soon find out.

Like how the Naturally Aspirated category is filled with Honda Civics, the Street 4WD is riddled with various models of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Not a surprise since it is one of the trusted platforms to reach the podium, as demonstrated by Eldred Goh in his Evo 9 with a 2:32.809 and Kevin Lo in the Evo X with a 2:33.581, taking first and second spot respectively in the Street Turbo 4WD category.

Taking third place was Hsiao Tung Wei in the Evo’s arch rival, the Subaru WRX STi with a 2:34.103.

But to JDM enthusiasts, this round is definitely a lot special than the previous ones as there were a couple of legendary inline-six icons that took part in the attack. Christened as the “Godzilla”, it sure is refreshing to see the Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R being taken around its natural habitat. Although Chin Wai Yet was only able to clock a 3:11.833, we are definitely looking forward for them to make a comeback.

Another Skyline that had made an appearance is the R33 GT-R driven by a prominent drift figure in Malaysia. Ee Yoong Cherng is an avid supporter for TIMETOATTACK and for the 2015 Round 1, he was able to clock a best time of 2:34.419.

Down in the Super Street 4WD, Roy Tang was able to clock a 2:31.880 in the Evo 9, demonstrating how fast the cars in the Super Street category can go. But the duo of Badrul Hisham/Afix Ikhwan managed to clock a faster 2:28.138 to take the second spot while Filbert Tan just blew everyone from the competition with his 2:23.809 in the carbon fiber Evo 9.

The Street Turbo 2WD category is where things get interesting as they do not have the luxury of 4WD to assist them throughout the corners. But it seems that the participants have it all under control as Saw En Chong managed to clock a 2:43.485 in his Toyota MR2 without any problems.

Also another inline-six legend, this sole Toyota Supra turned heads around and was one of the stars in the show. Driven by Low Kok Teng/Mark Darwin, they managed to clock a best time of 2:41.090.

Although the Nissan Cefiro A31 is quite an old machine and is known mostly for drifting, this particular example has been set up properly to handle the circuit and has enabled Liew Park Loong to take home a podium with a 2:39.291.
