The new Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport gets unveiled at LA Auto Show!

If you are looking forward to enter the competitive motorsports scene but think that the GT3 cars in the market are a bit too menacing, then Porsche has just the machine for you. The 911 GT3 cup used to be the brand’s entry-level customer race car but it has now been replaced with the recently-revealed Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

Based on the road-going Cayman GT4, this new Clubsport will be much more affordable compared to the GT3 variants. This new race car will be powered by a 385-horsepower 3.8-liter flat-six engine mated to a six-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission instead of the road car’s six-speed manual. Operated via paddle shifters, Porsche had also added a mechanical locking differential at the rear axle.

The suspensions are those found in the 911 GT3 Cup and stopping power are provided by 15-inch steel discs at all corners clamped by one-piece, six-piston aluminium fixed calipers at the front and four-piston at the rear. Systems like the electronic stability, traction and ABS have been recalibrated for the track.

The Cayman GT4 Clubsport has been lined up to enter several events like the VLN Long Distance Championship Nurburgring, the SRO GT4 series and the Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy USA. Porsche has already opened up orders for the car and pricing starts at RM 514,496.
