Offering “performance and lifestyle under the open sky”, JH Italia Sdn. Bhd. today officially revealed the new Lamborghini Huracan Spyder at their showroom in Glenmarie, Shah Alam. The new Huracan Spyder recently saw its global debut back in September at the Frankfurt International Auto Show and it is also the second road-going variant of the baby Bull after the coupe.
“The Huracan Spyder combines the performance of the Huracan coupe paired with the added emotional dimension of open air driving. The Gallardo Spyder, which this car replaces, was the best-selling open top model in Lamborghini’s history. We are confident that the Huracan Spyder will surpass this,” said Sebastien Henry, Head of Operations, South East Asia for Automobili Lamborghini.
Like the Gallardo Spyder, the new Huracan Spyder also gets an electrohydraulically operated soft-top. The roof can be operated at the touch of a button and the whole soft-top folds neatly in a compartment behind the seats in just 17 seconds. As an added feature, one can also operate the roof on the move at speeds up to 50km/h.
Powering the Huracan Spyder is still the 5.2-liter V10 engine that makes 610-horsepower at 8,250rpm. Sending the power to all four wheels, zerotohundred is dealt with in just 3.4 seconds, 0-200 in 10.2 seconds, and has a top speed of 324km/h. Although it is now roofless, the Huracan’s aluminium and carbon fiber hybrid structure provides exceptional torsional stiffness for an open top car – an improvement of 40-percent over its Gallardo predecessor.
