The new Bugatti Chiron prototype spied testing on public roads!

Perhaps after Bugatti revealed the exquisite Vision Gran Turismo concept racer, the crowd is getting a general idea of how the Veyron successor will look like in the future. Rumoured to bear the name ‘Chiron’, the only hint given out by Bugatti is that it will draw inspiration from the Vision GT Concept; but until what extent?

Some of those questions might be answered as this new Chiron was spotted a number of times on public roads, shedding more and more of its camouflage. Covered in matte black paint, the Chiron looks like a toned-down version of the Vision GT. Minus the massive wing and fancy aerodynamics, the sharper headlight style of the Chiron confirms the hint given out by Bugatti.

The side profile bears some similarities as well from its overall silhouette to the side intakes. Things however are a little bit different at the rear end where the LED strip has been changed in favour of regular taillights, as well as a toned down diffuser and the lowered exhaust system. The creases hint that it has a retractable rear wing, similar to what the Veyron has.

Not much is known on the specs of the Chiron, but the VW Group is reportedly using the same 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbo engine as its predecessor, but we can expect it pushing out a higher output of around 1,500-horsepower. Given the hybrid trend, there is also the possibility of the Chiron being fitted with electric motors to help it reach a top speed of around 460km/h.
