While we are still waiting anxiously for Lamborghini to unveil their much rumoured ‘hypercar’, let us indulge in their latest offering to the motoring world. The Huracan LP 610-4 came into the scene about a year ago and while we do love the looks of the coupe, the new Spyder version just takes the cake.

The new Huracan Spyder receives an automated soft-top similar to the one found on the previous Gallardo Spyder. One could choose between having the roof in three different colours – black brown or red. The roof is operated with just a touch of a button, neatly folds the soft-top in a compartment behind the seats in just 17 seconds and was designed to operate at speeds of up to 50 km/h.

As for the performance, it still gets 601-horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque from the 5.2-liter V10 engine that sends power to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Lamborghini said that the Huracan Spyder will do a zerotohundred in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 323 km/h.

Lamborghini has not mentioned if they had done any modifications to the chassis, which combines aluminium and carbon fiber altogether. Most of the aluminium was used for the outer shell while carbon fiber elements are mostly found in the passenger cell.

“The Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder is the next chapter in the success story of the naturally aspirated V-10 Huracán, and continues a Lamborghini tradition of open air motoring,” said Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann.
