Unlike the Murcielago Super Veloce where Lamborghini decided to limit the production number to 350 and available only in coupe form, the Aventador Super Veloce will be produced in larger numbers and will have a Roadster variant as well. And this new Aventador SV recently made its first global debut at “The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering” in Monterey.
Lamborghini announced that the Aventador SV Roadster will see a limited run of 500 units and this is the first open-top Lamborghini to bear the SV designation. Similar to the SV Coupe, the SV Roadster rides with 50PS more than the standard Aventador where the 6.5-liter V12 tower of power pushes out 750PS/740-horsepower and 690Nm of torque.
The engine is paired to a seven-speed ISR transmission which sends the power to all four wheels via a Haldex Generation IV 4WD system. It also get the same hardware as the Aventador SV like the adaptive Magneto Rheological Suspension, pushrod damping system and Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS).
More power is not the only thing that puts the SV Roadster ahead of the normal Aventador as it is also 50kg lighter. That means the SV Roadster gets a power-to-weight ratio of 2.1kg/hp, allowing it to sprint from zerotohundred in 2.9 seconds; only 0.1 seconds slower than the SV Coupe. Top speed remains the same at 350km/h.
