One of things that frustrates us the most from Jeremy Clarkson’s departure from BBC is not only the death of one of the best motoring shows in the world, but also for the fact that we would have to wait longer for a showdown between the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 and Ferrari La Ferrari to happen. Luckily we are not the only ones wanting to see such a battle to take place, so one man in the United States took the matter to his own hands and actually managed to make such a showdown a reality.
Enters Alejandro Salomon. Mostly known as Salomondrin, it has been his dream to bring these hypercars together and have a proper showdown between them. So of course we will be having the P1, 918 and LaFerrari; but why is it called Hyper 5? That is because they also have two extra entries that Salomondrin sees fit to enter the fight: the Pagani Huayra and the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.
Before some of you start wondering why there are no Koenigseggs in the battle, it is because the car is not road legal in the States which is too bad because we would really like to see how an Agera or probably a One:1 would fare against the line-up. It is also worth noting that all the cars used in this test are customer cars and none of the brands were involved in prepping the cars for the test.
Driving the Hyper 5 would be James Sofronas, a professional racing driver and also the owner and president of GMG. So when he predicted that the 918 will be the fastest around the track and conquering the quarter-mile is the P1, he may be onto something.
