We may have seen Koenigsegg establishing its presence in Malaysia last year, but things are a little bit different in the United States. While there are a number of Koenigseggs present in the US, none of them are actually in full compliance with local regulations which means they are there under the ‘Show or Display’ clause.
However things may change in the near future as the Swedish supercar manufacturer had started signing up dealerships in the US and they are now ready to build their first fully federalized and street-legal car for the States. And to make things better, this first car will be the new Agera RS.
This is a big accomplishment for a small car company like Koenigsegg which had produced just over 100 cars in two decades. To make this occasion a special one, Koenigsegg will be documenting the build of this Agera RS which is expected to take about six months to complete.
The chassis number 128 is one of the 25 Agera RS they will ever build and once all of them have been made, Koenigsegg will start production of the new Regera. It is expected that they will make 80 of such models and it will also be street-legal in the States.
The Agera RS is a more extreme version of the Agera R where it adopts elements found on the One:1. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 which pushes out 1,160-horsepower on pump fuel and only weighs 1,394kg.
