Obviously when you are paying millions of hard earned Ringgits for something you call a car, you would expect it to be an automotive perfection and is free from any flaw whatsoever to distinguish it from the average. But recalls are pretty common nowadays and even names like Porsche and Ferrari are not excluded from the list in making recalls. And after its fiery fiasco with the 458 Italia, Ferrari is forced to make another recall and this time it involves its latest crown jewel; the LaFerrari.

Now to ensure that they are not leaving any stone go unturned, the recall is issued to all 499 LaFerraris made by Maranello. According to Autoblg.nl, this recall is made due to a potential fire hazard and there has been one case of a minor fire involving a LaFerrari last year, though we could not verify if this incident had any relations with the recall.

Ferrari is believed to have contacted all LaFerrari customers to alert them of the issue. Ferrari however is being very secretive on revealing the exact cause of this recall, and it has been reported that the root of the problem might be with the paint rather than any sort of mechanical gremlins.

Interestingly though, Ferrari is denying the recall move and describing the occurrence as a regular maintenance where they are giving the fuel tank some ‘adjustments’. The repair move involves stripping apart the car heavily and might take a couple of weeks to get the job done.

UPDATE: Looks like there is some truth in what Ferrari is describing afterall as they are only offering a new upgrade to the fuel tank to make it less prone in catching fire. Of course, there is nothing faulty with the current fuel tank but with the upgrade, the risk of catching fire can be reduced dramatically.
