One of the best-selling models in the brand’s portfolio, Lexus Malaysia today unveiled the new fourth generation Lexus RX at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre. The RX is already a favourite among the enthusiasts and the new RX will try to woo new audiences with an array of improvements and new innovative features.
“The RX stands for Radiant Crossover, and that is exactly what the Lexus RX is: Radiant. The all-new Lexus RX is another ground breaking introduction to the Lexus line-up, and we are positive that it will be well-received by discerning Malaysian customers looking for both luxury and functionality,” said Mr. Akio Takeyama, Deputy Chairman of UMW Toyota.
A distinctive feature on all Lexus models of today, the RX also gets the unique ‘spindle grille’ at the front. The new RX offers more space than the previous model with an increase of 50mm in the wheelbase. The interior space is optimized for five passengers and the lowered rear floor section helps provide seating position comparable to the flagship LS luxury sedan.
The new RX is offered in six variants – RX200t Premium, RX200t Luxury, RX200t F SPORT, RX350 Luxury, RX350 F SPORT and RX450h. The RX200t variants get a turbocharged 2.0-liter direct-injected four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission,…
…while the RX350 is equipped with a larger 3.5-liter direct-injected V6 petrol engine paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The RX450h is powered by the same engine as the RX350 but is paired to an improved hybrid drivetrain.
Lexus will always put the consumer’s safety as top priority, which is why the new RX is equipped with Panoramic View Monitor, 10 SRS airbags, as well as Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Lexus Malaysia is offering On The Road Price without insurance for the improved RX ranges for private registration from RM388, 800 for RX 200t Premium to RM520, 200 for the RX 450h hybrid. Lexus Malaysia is aiming to sell 700 units of Lexus RX units in 2016.
