Renault reveals the wild and futuristic Corbusier Concept!

1

Yes, it is quite hard to wrap your head around this wildly designed car and knowing that it was made by Renault. But this car is indeed the work of the French automaker and it also comes with a very interesting story behind it.

It is called the Corbusier Concept and while the name might not ring any bells to some, he is actually a famed modernist architect, designer and painter. To mark the 50th anniversary of the architect’s death, France’s Centre des Monuments Nationaux is organizing an exhibition called “Cars for living: the automobile and modernism in the 20th and 21st centuries”, and the Corbusier Concept is one of the subjects being put on display.

The study was created to investigate the topic of “French cultural objects” by focusing on the golden age of automobiles in the 1930s, an era where the pre-war design features a mix of futuristic and traditional styling cues. This is why the Corbusier Concept has a significantly long hood, prominent front grille and a narrow glasshouse.

Since the concept is mostly focusing on the overall design, we doubt that the Corbusier actually has a powertrain underneath. Renault has also yet to release any interior images and if it is left to our imagination, it must be featuring an array of futuristic touch screen controls instead of the conventional controls.
