If we were to mention the electric vehicles or EVs on the market, one of the dominating names would definitely be the Tesla. Offering great practicality and packing some punch at the same time, Tesla’s reign as one of the best EV available in the market might soon be compromised as Porsche had recently given the green light for their Mission E project to enter the production lines.

And Porsche is going big for this project as well as they will be investing about one million Euros and creating more than 1,000 jobs when the Project E gets underway. 700 million Euros will go to its Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen site alone, while a new paint shop and an assembly plant will be constructed over the next few years. Porsche will also be expanding the current engine factory in order to make the electric motors.

The Mission E concept promotes a lithium-ion integrated battery which can be charged to 80-percent capacity in only 15 minutes via an 800-volt unit. Porsche also offers an ingenious option of wireless charging through a coil in the garage floor.
