Maserati might have their own one-make Trofeo World Series that puts the GranTurismo MC against each other, but we would like to see the Trident to battle it out against other brands as well. Luckily for us we would not have to wait long for such to take place as Maserati had just announced that they will be going head to head against various makes and brands in the International GT4 series.
At the same time, this marks Maserati’s return into the GT4 discipline after their initial stint in the European GT4 Championship back in 2009. The series is run by private teams and 20 cars from 10 teams are expected to participate.
To understand more on the GT4 regulations, FIA allows modifications on the aerodynamics and the adding on of obligatory safety equipment. The GranTurismo MC will also receive an air restrictor which will reduce the power output form from 488 BHP to 430 BHP. Aside from the International GT4 Series, Maserati will also be racing in the US Pirelli World Challenge.

The budget is accessible and the series is highly competitive and professional,” said Roberto Bozzi, Sales and Marketing manager for Maserati.
