A Koenigsegg with a 1000+ horsepower output may not be something odd for the Swedish automaker, but their pursuit in perfecting their road missiles will never seize to amaze. And grabbing attention at the recent Geneva Motor Show is another creation of Mr. Christian von Koenigsegg, the new and hardcore Agera RS.
It may look like a regular Agera in a quick glance, but Koenigsegg had thrown in a couple of touches in making the RS stand out from the others. Powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 engine, the Agera RS rolls the streets with 1,160-horsepower – on regular pump gas! This is a huge power boost compared to the Agera R’s output of 960-horsepower.
Aside from more power, the Agera RS also gets a couple of improvements derived from their One:1 megacar. The list includes an advanced lightweight sound insulation, new aerodynamic components to boost downforce such as the front splitter, front winglets and an active rear spoiler, and some vents behind the front wheels. With these additions, downforce is said to have been increased to as much as 450kg at 250km/h.
Koenigsegg is also offering a long list of optional extras to boost the car’s performance which includes a separate aero package, active suspension with pre-defined setups for some of the top race tracks in the world, active sound cancellation and an active shock absorber system.
Koenigsegg will only be making 25 Agera RS, and 10 of such have already been reserved. Also making an appearance at Geneva is the new Regera, which we will be posting about this new supercar shortly.
