The name Infiniti is not really a marque that one will associate with supercars. They may be in the world of F1 and the Q50 Eau Rouge concept is very interesting but other than those two, Infiniti is mostly known for their luxury sedans targeted to rival their German counterparts. But it seems that their interest in the world of supercars is growing, especially with the unveiling of the Vision GT supercar concept in real-world form.
Unveiled at Shanghai Motor Show, the concept car began as a design competition among Infiniti’s global design studios which saw the team in Beijing winning it. Infiniti said that the design has a number of Chinese influences in the design, such as the fluid movement and the delicate gradation of the body which was said to have been inspired by traditional Chinese calligraphy and landscape paintings.
The Vision GT concept will be a front mid-engined supercar and the proportions is somewhat similar to the parent company’s 2020 Vision Concept in Gran Turismo. But this is not just a sci-fi creation as Infiniti also said that their future high performance models might as well look pretty much like this concept.
