By now, the rumours of the Veyron’s successor are going wild all over as this record-breaking hypercar will soon reach the end of the line. After almost a decade rolling off the production lines in 2005, it is almost time for Bugatti to bid farewell to the Veyron as they are now coming close in selling off the last few examples of this W16 monster.
Since the launch of the car, it was earlier reported that they will be selling 300 examples of the Veyron. But obviously that was not enough to cater the overwhelming response and after extending the production count to 450 units, Bugatti now has only eight units left to sell before ending the Veyron’s production.
And since the hypercar’s successor, which is rumoured to be called as the ‘Chiron’, is scheduled for a late 2015 or 2015 launch, will the production line at Molsheim plant in France remain idle until the car is introduced? Apparently, that is not the case as “there will be no downtime, we need to get ready with the pre-series cars to support the launch of the next car”, said Bugatti CEO Wolfgang Durheimer.
This ‘next car’ has dozens of rumours surrounding it, where it is expected to house the same quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine found in the Veyron but pushing out a higher figure, beating even the Super Sport’s 1,200-horsepower.
