One of the few cars that we are looking forward to see blasting through Sepang International Circuit has got to be the Renault Sport R.S. 01. Built specifically for the World Series by Renault, this R8-like race car was unveiled in June 2014 and has undergone an intense development programme taking place at circuits like Vallelunga, Monza and Barcelona-Catalunya.
And one of the few lucky ones who have had the opportunity to drive this 550-horsepower mid-engined race car was Chris Harris, who had managed to secure this once in a lifetime experience. His playground for the day was the Silverstone Circuit and the clouds glooming over the circuit definitely did not slow him down to open the taps.
It takes a lot to impress someone like Harris, and the R.S. 01 has everything to get the job done. The aerodynamic efficiency of the R.S. 01 allows it to produce more aerodynamic grip than a GT3 car. Though this was not proven in numbers, Harris has driven a lot of race cars in his career and had even joined a number of big races as well.
