A car like the McLaren P1 is definitely not a toy that anyone should be riding around. With 903BHP in its disposal, it would take skills and total respect for the car in ensuring a safe passage for the occupants. So when McLaren are looking for an experienced driver to act as a mentor for their McLaren P1 GTR Driver Program, Bruno Senna is just one of the few qualified individuals to assume such a position.

Bruno Senna, nephew of the late Ayrton Senna, is no stranger to the world of motorsports as he was once a Formula 1 driver for teams like HRT, Renault and Williams. His goal in the program will be to ensure optimum performance for each of the cars as well as the drivers around some of the world’s most iconic challenging circuits.

“The McLaren P1 GTR is a phenomenal machine, and is designed for one purpose – to be the ultimate drivers’ car around any given track. With more power and torque, optimized aerodynamics and increased grip over the already very impressive McLaren P1, the levels of performance are at the next level. Significant focus has been put on ensuring drivers can access and exploit the extra performance,” said Senna.

Now here comes the fun part. McLaren has released a list of nine provisional circuits that they might be dropping in and the usual faces would be circuits like the Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, Silverstone in the UK and the Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy. But what got us pumped up is seeing our own Sepang International Circuit in the list, so there might just be a chance for us to see the magnificent McLaren P1 GTR on our home turf! The remaining circuits on the list are the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain, Circuit of the Americas in North America, Red Bull Ring in Austria, Bahrain International Circuit in Bahrain and Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi.
