Taking the attention away from the LA Auto Show, Guangzhou was having their own Auto Show as well and revealing a new concept in China was the German automaker BMW. This new concept was dubbed as the Compact Sedan Concept and it was designed to preview the upcoming 1-Series Sedan.
The Compact Sedan Concept was given an exclusive Liquid Metal Bronze exterior finish that features fine pigments that shift between light and dark depending on the incidence of light. The front is unmistakably BMW as it has a sporty front fascia with a twin kidney grille, LED headlights, and uniquely shaped air intakes.
At the back, the Compact Sedan Concept has its sporty cues with the flared wheel arches, polished aluminium window surrounds and a set of 20-inch alloy wheels.
Since this is a concept, the interior has that wild sci-fi touch where it gets the orange-coloured accent lighting across the dashboard. Other features include Nappa leather seats, a heads-up display, a panoramic glass roof, touch-sensitive controls, and a freestanding infotainment system with an 8.8-inch display.
Comfort for the rear passengers are not neglected as they have their own climate control system. BMW did not add more on the rear seats but did state that it has an “unaccustomed level of space and openness”.
