From the roads to the race track and back to the roads again, Aston Martin had finally taken the covers off their new Vantage GT3 road car. Inspired by their highly-successful Vantage GT3 race car, this new Aston Martin will be making its public debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show before going on sale in a very limited number of only 100 units.
It is no surprise that they will be giving a couple of tweaks to the massive engine, and the 6.0-liter V12 now pushes out 592-horsepower and 461 lb-ft of torque, 27-horsepower and 4 lb-ft more. Other upgrades done to the engine are the magnesium inlet manifolds with revised geometry, a lightweight magnesium torque tube and a full titanium exhaust system with centre outlets. The V12 engine is mated to a seven-speed automated manual gearbox sending all the power to the rear wheels.
Being a track-oriented road car, the upgrades do not stop there. Aston Martin had also lightened the Vantage GT3 with new flared carbon fiber front wings, a carbon fiber bonnet, a lithium-ion race-derived battery, carbon fiber door casings, and an optional carbon fiber roof and polycarbonate rear windows. All those weight shaving has resulted in the GT3 to tip the scales at 1,565kg.
Getting wider tracks on both ends and a retuned suspension system, a bitier Brembo carbon-ceramic brake system is also installed while the 19-inch magnesium alloy wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
With the car already in an extreme nature, Aston Martin further highlighted this characteristic with an extensive aerodynamic package and a cabin full of carbon fiber parts such as the sports seats, steering wheel and centre stack.
