Since the new Bond movie ‘Spectre’ is only months away, Aston Martin decided to spice things up a bit by coming up with a new model. While our initial thoughts veered immediately to the interesting DB10, however that unique Vantage-like car is not the model we are talking about here. Instead, it is a piece of the final version of the DB9 before the successor takes place in the showrooms soon enough.
It is called the DB9 GT Bond Edition and it is one of the most powerful cars in the nameplate’s history with 540-horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque in its disposal. This special edition is finished in a host of carefully considered trim, equipment and accessories that celebrates Aston Martin’s more than 50-year relation with 007.
This DB9 GT’s exterior is finished in Spectre Silver and has sterling silver Aston Martin badges with unique numbered sill plaques featuring a ‘007’ logo. The infotainment system features a Bond Edition welcome screen and the famous gun barrel logo can be found between the rear seats.
This new DB9 GT is already available for orders and is priced from a fitting price tag of USD 237,007. Limited to only 150 units, the V12 engine will be coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission and will do a zerotohundred in 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 183mph.
“In the run-up to the launch of the new film Spectre, which sees Bond behind the wheel of the DB10, we are very happy to be able to celebrate the partnership with this superb limited edition DB9 GT collector’s item,” Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer said in a statement.
