The next Bugatti to feature a 1,500-HP hybrid drivetrain?

The Bugatti Veyron is closing in to the end of its production line within the next 12 months, and there is only 20 units left to be built to complete the run of the limited 450 units. But the departure of this great car should not be mourned as it paves the way for a greater model to take its place.

According to Reuters, the successor will still be using a 16-cylinder engine like the current Veyron. But what largely differentiates it between the Veyron is that it will be featuring hybrid technology on its drivetrain. Pairing those two up, it could produce a colossal output of around 1,500-horsepower on this road-legal car.

If such figures are translated into the real world, it will replace the Koenigsegg One:1 as the world’s most powerful production car. But power is not the only chapter that Bugatti will be focusing as lightweight construction is expected to be a highlight as well.

And like the Veyron, the new car is also expected to be produced in limited numbers; most likely to be broken down again into 300 coupes and 150 roadsters.
