Aston Martin is now reviving the Lagonda brand which will be entering a limited-production run, so far confirmed to only be for the Middle Eastern market. As for the time being, Lagonda has yet been given the clearance to run as a standalone brand with Aston Martin is still satisfied with using the nameplate for its new sedan.
The new Aston Martin Lagonda had recently arrived in Oman where it will be subjected to some hot-weather testing. They had yet to release the full details of the car, but what is known for the time being is that it is based on the frames of the Aston Martin’s Rapide and has the same 6.0-liter V12 engine as well.
The Lagonda will largely be built by hand by a team of craft builders as Aston Martin’s main facility in Gaydon, England. This is in fact the same place where Aston gave birth to their uber-rare One-77 hypercar. Deliveries are expected to take place somewhere in 2015.
Aston Martin describes their new Lagonda to be as an “exceptional automotive art”. The Lagonda is most likely to hint the brand’s future styling themes and at the same time blending some elements from the last Lagonda sedan launched in 1976.
