You pay for it, it’s sold under your name, but Ferrari won’t let you keep it. Purchasing cars under the XX Programme might come with some pretty weird terms and conditions, but that has not stopped the wealthy petrolheads from spending ludicrous amount of cash to get a taste of the Prancing Horse’s exclusive R&D programme.

This diabolical track-only machine was recently revealed ahead of its debut, but we need more than just digitally-rendered pictures of this new beast. Fortunately we need not to wait for long as the LaFerrari FXXK made an appearance in flesh at the Ferrari Finali Mondiali event at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina circuit.

Featuring an array of upgrades that puts it in a different class from the LaFerrari, the FXXK’s (K stands for its Kinetic Energy Recovery System) 6.3-liter V12 now pushes out 838-horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, bringing the combined output to an amazing 1,035-horsepower and 663 lb-ft of torque.

With the fancy but functional aerodynamic package that comes with the car, the FXXK is able to do a zerotohundred in less than 3 seconds and has a top speed of 350km/h. With such performance, the FXXK was said to lap Ferrari’s Fiorano test track in just 1:14, putting it a second ahead the 599XX Evoluzione and a full six seconds faster than the LaFerrari.

Ferrari has confirmed that they will be making 32 examples of the FXXK, with each of them coming with a price tag of USD 2.7 million (RM 9.42 million). While that may sound like a whole lot of cash for a car that you could not take home, all 32 of the FXXK have already been sold out.
