Better late than never – Naza Euro Motors launched the highly anticipated Citroën DS3 yesterday, thus officially adding another model in their range of cars here in Malaysia, after the DS4 and DS5. The DS3 was first previewed last year at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show in PWTC, catching the attention of visitors with its funky styling.
Although many would know that the DS3 has been around since 2010; however it has taken some considerable time to reach our shores. For now, it is being offered in a potent variant of the 1.6-litre VTi engine that produces 120bhp and 160nm of torque. With a fun and funky persona, we were very much looking forward to the more powerful 1.6-litre turbocharged 155bhp variant of the DS3, however we will have to wait and see for the arrival here in Malaysia.
“The entrance of the Citroën DS3 into the Malaysian market completes the Citroën DS line which evokes expertise, style and technology inscribed with the DNA of innovation and distinction…..” said Dato’ Samson Anand George, CEO of Naza Euro Motors Sdn Bhd.
On the exterior, the DS3 still looks fresh despite its long presence in the market. As a supermini, it certainly sets aside a difference against its competitors with its razor sharp styling and funky roof colours; where Citroën offers 7 different tones of your choice that matches along with the door mirrors.
The DS3 comes with 17-inch Bellone black Diamond-tipped alloy wheels and is available in a series of colours to tag along with the roof tones of yours choice. Its design is certainly modern and radical which we reckon the market will lust after for fun little urban roundabout car.
At the same time, it is equipped with high-tech goodies like a sophisticated HiFi audio system with an additional, third speaker located in the middle of the upper dashboard and an amplified subwoofer in the boot, an MP3 and WMA-compatible CD player, Bluetooth hands-free kit and Mistral Claudia leather seats.
Other features that comes as standard here are – headlamps with automatic function, daytime running LED lights, electro chrome rear view mirror, electrically folding and heated door mirrors and automatic digital air-conditioning for the convenience of its occupants.
The DS3 is a proven success worldwide, where Citroën has sold over 200,000 units since it was first introduced in late 2009. Set to protrude the Malaysian market, Naza Euro Motors is confident that the DS3 will continue this success here in Malaysia too. With a competitive price starting from RM117,888 OTR, the DS3 will rival competitors like the Mini One.
