They previewed the vehicle a year ago in a concept guise, and now it is out showing its full form. Lexus has revealed their first compact crossover, the 2015 NX, which the production version will be debuting at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show next week. The 2015 NX will be putting crossovers like the Audi Q3 and BMW X1 in its sights.
The NX will come in three variants, starting with the NX200 packing a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. After that we have the NX200t which predictably, is a turbocharged version of the NX200 and is offered with an F Sport package. A hybrid variant of the crossover will also be offered by Lexus, designated as the NX300. No further information was released on this greener version of the crossover.
The underpinning of the NX is a modified platform found in the Toyota RAV4, and the NX will be available in both all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive. Lexus designers have managed to retain the aggressive lines of the previous NX concept, but have softened them down on certain areas for the production version.
The NX will also be featuring a couple of techs such as the new Lexus Remote Touch input device, a wireless charging tray for mobile devices, a G sensor, heads-up display, active cruise control, and blind spot and rear cross traffic warning systems.
