The Lamborghini Gallardo has been with us for quite some time and after countless versions, we finally bid goodbye to the baby Lambo to make way for the new Huracan LP 610-4. But the streets is not the only place where we will see this new Bull as Lamborghini is already getting their hands busy in transforming the Huracan into a Super Trofeo version.

Soon to replace the Gallardo Super Trofeo running in the one-make race of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, the Squadra Corse team is hard at work to strip down the Huracan and turn it into a serious race car. Working together with Reiter Engineering, Lamborghini has also recruited racing driver Fabio Babini and Adrian Zaugg to conduct development on the Huracan Super Trofeo.

Both being experienced racers, Babini is a GT racing veteran who took a class win at Le Mans in 2001, while Zaugg competed in the A1GP and GP2 before signing up as a Lamborghini factory driver.

The racing version of the Huracan will still retain the 5.2-liter V10 engine with the same 602-horsepower distributed to all four wheels. The heavy dual-clutch gearbox on the other hand might be replaced with a lighter, purpose-built sequential gearbox, and not to forget a stiffer suspension, upgraded brakes and a meaner aero package.
