Featuring a versatile crossover that comes with a spacious interior and flexible multi-configuration seat arrangement, Edaran Tan Chong Motors (EDTC) today unveiled the new 5-seater Nissan X-Gear crossover. Bearing a fresher and sportier look, the X-Gear is engineered to fit the customers’ every occasion and lifestyle – ranging from the daily commute to the weekend outings.
“The new Nissan X-Gear is targeted alike at both the young families who want a stylish crossover to reflect their individuality, yet remain practical and economical. The new Nissan X-Gear is an interpretation of how we can live life to the fullest, thanks to its sporty and rugged look, its versatile spaciousness and fuel-efficiency,” said the Director of Marketing and Product Planning of ETCM, Mr. Tan Keng Meng.
Featuring a new chrome V-strut front grille with smoked horizontal panes, the new side mouldings and overfenders give the X-Gear a rugged presence. It also comes with a whole list of updated exterior features which includes the front bumper, black sump guard, roof rails, V-spoke alloy rims, engine hood and fender design, and a sleeker wing mirror and head lamps.
The interior of the Nissan X-Gear is both spacious and comfortable, thanks to the new seat fabric design and improved visibility through the Fine Vision Meter cluster with Multi-Information Display. The already spacious trunk is complemented by the 60:40 split-fold rear seats that could double up the luggage capacity from 383 liters to 769 liters when folded down. The roof rails on the other hand offers further load carrying capacity of up to 25kgs.
Safety is also an area that has not been overlooked as the X-Gear comes with dual front SRS airbags as standard, along with the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist System (BA).
The X-Gear is powered by a 1.6-liter HRDE16 four-cylinder engine that pushes out 105PS and 150Nm of torque. This new crossover is only available in a four-speed automatic and comes in five colours: Garnet Red, Diamond Black, Bronze Gold, Brilliant White and Tungsten Silver. It is priced at RM 89,800 OTR with a warranty period for three years or 100,000km (whichever comes first).
